Network for Human and Social Development concluded the project titled “Bountiful Heritage: Protecting Pakistan’s Peacocks” on August 26 2024. This project started on September 5 2023 and was focused towards the establishment of an enclosure that protects the Indian peafowl population which is native to Mithrio Charan and Mithrio Suttar, two villages of Chachro Tharparkar. The enclosures have successfully been established using locally sourced material, with a focus towards ensuring that the population of peacocks are safe from poachers, and have a centralized location where they can be nurtured and cared for, and furthermore which allows their populations to grow.
