World NGO Day is an international calendar day annually observed on the 27th of February. Officially recognized and declared by the 12 member countries of the IX Baltic Sea NGO Forum of the Council of the Baltic Sea States in 2010 and first time marked by the UN, EU leaders and international organizations in 2014. Social Work Encouragement Recognition & Appreciation-SWERA Awards on the day of NGOs. The award aims to celebrate and promote inspirational stories of social work executed by individual social workers or organizations/departments. On occasion of SWERA Awards-2019, Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat, Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) was Honable chief Guest He thanked and appreciated all the organizations that participated in the event. He said that National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is the lead agency at the Federal level to deal with whole spectrum of Disaster Management Activities which has been established under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister, as the apex policy making body in the field of Disaster. He said that I will look forward to this event in the future and hope we can all work together to ensure the life and safety of our people. Dr.Fauzia Moghees (Executive Coordinator-NHSD/KKO) Representing National Bank of Pakistan during her Presentation at SWERA Awards-2019 Said that The National Bank is the largest commercial bank of Pakistan and CSR is an integral partof NBP’s corporate policy. National Bank has been providing services in Health, Education, Women Empowerment, Sports, Culture, and Special Persons and have benefitted a large number of communities and served Pakistan and its poor communities. She said that in 42nd FPCCI Export Awards 2017-2018: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan Award presented to National Bank of Pakistan for Outstanding Services in Banking & Financial Sector. National Bank of Pakistan as part of its CSR activities is funding Empowered Women Empowered Pakistan Project. In This project Kaus-E-Kazah wel-fare organization have established 50 Vocational Training centres at a National level. The centres have been established in Pishin, Ziarat, Khanozai, Kuchlak, Jacobabad & Jafferabad in Baluchistan, Kishore and Mirpur khas in Sindh, Jhang, Bakkhar, Rawalpindi, Multan in Punjab, Haripur, Abbottabad in KPK and in Gilgit Baltistan. More than 2500 Sewing Machines have so far been distributed. They are thus able to earn their living and be self-sufficient. National Bank of Pakistan facilitates the Poor People which have no Access to Hospital and provide free medicines and treatment to patients. Main objective of camps is to provide better health facilities and to promote health seeking behavior among people. In all Camps free medical advice and medicines provided by the team of doctors. National Bank of Pakistan organized Free Medical Camps and Eye Camps across the Nation I.E, Swat, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mardan, Charsadda, Bannu, Peshawar, & Chitral in KPK, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Jhang, and Chakwal in Punjab, Pishin, and Kuchlak in Balochistan, Demote Valley Gilgit Baltistan. In all medical camps, everyone is participated in which, Families, old generation, Young generation, and the children’s were fully participated and made all medical camps successful. As in always the case at NBP Free Medical Camps, Medicines provided to patients free of cost On occasion of SWERA Awards-2019 NHSD/KKO arranged Stall & Display all the Items Made by the Trainees. At the end of SWERA Awards -2019, Lieutenant General Omar Mahmood Hayat, Chairman of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Award Presented to Dr. Fauzia Moghees on Behalf of National Bank of Pakistan for their Commendable Performance in the arena of 2018.
