GIVE2ASIA SUPPORTS NHSD FOR MOBILE SCHOOL AND LIBRARY SERVICES
Network for Human and Social Development have been working in the field of education, health and disaster management since the past 12 years. During the current Covid 19 epidemic we helped in the National cause by distributing rations and personal protective equipment for the poorest and most vulnerable populations in Pakistan.
NHSD is providing support in school education since its inception. We plan on expanding our outreach by providing mobile education which will benefit 350 students. This endeavor has been ongoing since March 2020. Teachers visit door to door and provide educational support and at the same time engage them to gauge their well being. TCA library a project of NHSD consists of 1500 titles (that start from Kindergarden and reach up till high school and above) which help to provide reading and spelling lessons. Our efforts have ensured continuous learning for our students.
Our project also guides students with historical and cultural subjects that help them understand their country as well as the world. Such information, when disseminated to these children, will help them in improving their upward social mobility as well as broaden their capacities for further learning.
We request support for the following: running expenses; vans for dissemination in mobile library; loud-speaker for audio books of course books and other books; a portable scanner which allows for scanning vintage books (used in universities in Pakistan as part of their syllabus) made available for students of vulnerable communities, who are enrolled in master and bachelor level programs; Focal Group Discussions guiding these communities about the importance of upward mobility and their opportunities in such endeavors.
Please support us for running expenses to widen our services and ensure a bright future even in these troubled times.
